One day I will figure out how to be a regular blogger - that day has not come yet.
Anyway - today was our 50th day of school! I can't believe we already reached it! We celebrate the 50th day of school in a big, fun, and exciting way - 1950's style!
The kids dress to impress in their 50's best and we twist and shout and shake it all about while learning throughout the day!
There are tons of freebies on TpT for the 50th day of school - just search it in their search box! I do not have any 50th day items in my store because the ones available on TpT already are so fabulous!
Here are some highlights from our 50th day of kindergarten!
Sock Hop & Hula-Hooping! We compare and contrast the 50's to now. We talk about the dances that they used to have and toys they used to use. The kids love it because in the 50's they used Lincoln Logs & we play with those in our classroom during Fun Friday!
For our Sock Hop & Hula-Hooping - we all head to the gym. We put on some 50's music and we spend time twisting and shouting and trying our best to hula - hoop!
Bubble Contest - we see if the kids can blow a bubble! They each get gum (that I watch them spit out later...) and we try to blow a bubble! We graph who can blow a bubble and who can't. We make a fun craft to go along with it!
Root-Beer Floats! We make our predictions - will the ice-cream sink or float! We graph it. Then we get to enjoy the floats and observe what the ice-cream does! How fun!
Those are just a few of the MANY highlights of 50's day. I would love to hear how you celebrate the 50th day at your school!!
