Humpty Dumpty

We focus on Nursery Rhymes the first few weeks of kindergarten.  This is great for the kids.  I have some kids who come in reading and some who can't.  Most of my kids have heard of the nursery rhymes before.  It gives the whole class the feeling that they can read!

I use the nursery rhymes to teach many different print concepts, work on one to one correspondence, talk about reading directions, letters vs. words, and much more!

I also have the kids perform their own "skit" of the poem.  This helps them with public speaking and warms them up to the idea of speaking in front of a group of peers!

My kids blew me away with their Humpty Dumpty work this year!

Check out some of their work below!  You can pick up your own Humpty Dumpty packet here!
